Blonder Tongue Showcases Its New ZIPP for Transporting High-Quality Encoded Linear Programming at 2017 InfoComm Show

Old Bridge, NJ / May 15, 2017 / Blonder Tongue Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE MKT:BDR) a leading designer and manufacturer of pro-AV solutions, will showcase its soon to be released Zixi IP Processor, the ZIPP in Booth # 3661 at the InfoComm Show, June 14-16, 2017 in Orlando, FL.

The ZIPP (Zixi IP Processor) is ideal for cable operators and broadcasters, as it can aggregate content from multiple remote origination broadcast locations, or transmitter facilities back to the primary headend. The unit can accept streams from another ZIPP unit, or from one of Blonder Tongue's other encoders that include Zixi software, such as HDIP-Z.

Content Acquisition Processor for IP Delivery

The highlight about the ZIPP is that it utilizes Zixi Feeder and Zixi Receiver software functionality to allow Service Providers acquire content from anywhere in the world where there is an Internet connection, without worrying about the video source location, and without incurring third party expenses.

β€œThe product operates in two modes: ZIPP Mode allows for the ingest of up to four pre-encoded content streams via ASI, IP or RF with the Zixi protocol. It sends them out IP, regardless of being MPEG-2 or H.264. The signal can then be sent to another ZIPP unit set in UNZIPP Mode, or our HDDM decoder,” said Jeff Smith, VP of Sales at Blonder Tongue. β€œUNZIPP Mode can receive up to four IP streams that have the Zixi protocol and remove the protocol from each stream. It can then output the streams via IP, ASI, or RF QAM channels. In this mode, you must purchase a Zixi link license for each transport stream, sold separately.”
