Blonder Tongue Introduces NeXgen Gateway at SCTE•ISBE Cable-Tec Expo 2017

The NeXgen Gateway is a Powerful Two-Way Platform, Customizable to Any Enterprise Application for Video Delivery Service to Multiple Locations

OLD BRIDGE, NJ / September 28, 2017 / Blonder Tongue Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE American: BDR) today announced it will introduce their new NeXgen Gateway at the SCTE•ISBE Cable-Tec Expo in Booth # 437 from October 17-20, 2017, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

The NeXgen Gateway (NXG) is a powerful, two-way, future-proof platform that is ideal for delivering next generation video services to enterprise locations including hospitality, educational, multifamily residential, healthcare, business parks, or stadiums. The NXG addresses the challenges of migrating to future IP-DRM content protection practices, while supporting today’s M-Card ingest encryption. The NXG platform delivers traditional hospitality video services while having additional capacity built-in to provide next generation technologies as they are being introduced.

“Our specialty is taking the best technology in the industry and tailoring it to create concentrated, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions that are customized to fit our customers’ business applications needs,” said Jeff Smith, vice president of sales at Blonder Tongue. “While we have had success with our recent product innovations, we needed another game-changing solution, and our new NeXgen Gateway answers the call. It has been in research and development for almost two years now, and I am proud to introduce it to the public at this year’s SCTE Cable-Tec Expo.”

The system platform starts with the NXG Mainframe, which features input and output signal conditioning, communication and management via a powerful Linux-based monitoring and control system. It supports module interconnection via a 2.5 gig high-speed-data based backplane, and DC power to various sections and modules via a fully redundant, hot swappable power supply. The NXG Mainframe utilizes secure webpages to control the entire platform module functionality, input channel source selection (RF/IP), and output channel destination selection (RF/IP).

The NXG system module options include ten (10) offerings:

IP Digital Rights Management (DRM) Input

HD Encoder for Local Content

CableCARD® QAM Input Decryptor

H.264 to MPEG-2 Transcoder

QAM Modulator (32 or 48 Channels)

Electronic Program Guide (EPG)

Pro:Idiom Output

ATSC Demodulator Input

IP Digital Rights Management (DRM) Output

Stream View for Real-Time Monitoring
