FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
OLD BRIDGE, New Jersey—September 24, 2012—Blonder Tongue Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE MKT:BDR) is pleased to return to the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2012.
Exhibit Dates: October 17-19, 2012
Location: Orlando, Florida
Orange County Convention Center
The company will conduct live demonstrations of its most recent encoders designed to provide high-performance yet cost effective solutions to system operators. These fifth generation encoders are particularly well suited for delivering SD/HDTV and digital signage services using minimal bandwidth in a variety of facilities such as universities, cable headends, hospitals, MDUs, stadiums, airports, and retail stores.
[1] The HDE-CSV-QAM is the company’s first single-channel encoder that accepts one HD/SD video program from any of the following inputs: Component, Composite, HD/SD-SDI, HDMI, and VGA. The input program is then MPEG-2 encoded into a SPTS (Single-Program Transport Stream) which will be available as output in the following formats simultaneously: 1xQAM, IP (10/100BASE-T Ethernet), and ASI. Compact design allows for deployment of three encoders in 1RU. The sister product, HDE-CHV-QAM is identical in application and performance, except that it does not support the SDI input. Both products were released in third quarter 2012.
[2] The HD264-2S-IP is the company’s first H.264 encoder. It is designed to receive up to two HDTV programs from any of the following inputs: two unencrypted HDMIs, two HD/SD-SDI, and two Component inputs. The two input programs are then H.264 or MPEG-2 encoded into two SPTS which will be available as output in the following formats simultaneously: IP (10/100BASE-T Ethernet), and ASI. The product was released in third quarter 2012.
[3] The HDE-4S-QAM is designed to receive up to four HDTV programs from any of the following inputs: four HD/SD-SDI, and four Component inputs. The four input programs are then MPEG-2 encoded into four SPTS or two MPTS which will be available as output in the following formats simultaneously: QAM (four adjacent channels), IP (GigE/1000BASE-T Ethernet), and ASI. The sister product, HDE-2H/2S-QAM is identical in application and performance, except that it supports two HD/SD-SDI, two unencrypted HDMI, and four Component inputs. Both products were released in second quarter 2012.
