Blonder Tongue debuts its ASI/IP-to-IP/ASI transcoder at 2010 SCTE Cable-Tec Expo (Booth 1815)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

OLD BRIDGE, NEW JERSEY, September 8, 2010 – Blonder Tongue Laboratories, Inc. (AMEX:BDR) is pleased to return to Cable-Tec in booth #1815. The company will present and demonstrate its newest solutions in the Digital and Encoder product lines including:

[1] The IPAT (IP ASI Transcoder), is the Company’s latest product which will be demonstrated live at its booth. The transcoder accepts MPEG2/4 encoded input streams in 1000Base-T Ethernet (GbE) and ASI formats simultaneously. GbE input is transcoded to ASI output while ASI input is transocded to GbE output.
Two factory-installed optional modules (the RF IN and the RF OUT) offer more flexibility on input/output formats rendering the product suitable for a wider range of applications. IPAT is expected to be ship-ready in 1Q2011.

[2] The HDE-2H-QAM (2xHDMI/YPbPr Encoder), shipping now, is a 2:1 encoder and multiplexer that accepts up to two inputs in HDMI and YPbPr (component) formats, digitizes and MPEG-2 encodes each into a HD (1080i/720p) stream, and multiplexes the resulting two (2) streams into one (1) QAM output. Any combination of input multiplexing is allowed, for example, 2xHDMI, or (1xHDMI) + (1xYPbPr). The encoder supports Dolby® Digital AC-3 encoding & Closed Captioning (EIA-608), and is equipped with an EAS interface & one ancillary ASI output port.

[3] The SD/AV10E-QAM (10xSD/AV Encoder), shipping now, is a 10:1 encoder and multiplexer that accepts up to ten (10) inputs in SD-SDI and NTSC baseband Audio/Video formats, digitizes and MPEG-2 encodes each stream, and multiplexes the resulting ten (10) streams into one (1) QAM output. The encoder supports Dolby® Digital AC-3 encoding & Closed Captioning, and is equipped with an EAS interface & two ancillary ASI output ports.

[4] The AP-60-860A (Agile Digital/Analog Processor), expected to be ship-ready in 4Q2010, operates in one of the three following modes:
Mode 1: Analog Heterodyne Processor (Analog RF IN > Analog RF OUT)
Mode 2: Digital Heterodyne Processor (QAM IN > QAM OUT)
Mode 3: Digital-to-Analog Processor (8VSB or QAM IN > Analog RF OUT)
